Vladimir Dubossarsky was born in Moscow in 1964. Despite the fairly traditional education – he graduated from the Moscow Art School in Memory of 1905 and Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute — contemporary art became his field of action quite early in his life.
From 1994 to 2004, creative union Dubossarsky-Vinogradov pleased the international art world with their paintings made in a peculiar recognizable style (a combination, among others, of socialist realism, lyrical surrealism, neo-Baroque, ironic kitsch, in short, works that “reflect the myths and stories of the post-Soviet collective unconscious”). Since 2014 Vladimir works as a solo artist, his major driving forces in art are impromptu and experiment.
